ARE YOU READY?
Thanksgiving is 2 weeks away and then BLACK FRIDAY. Are you all ready for that? The holidays are stressful for some and fun and crazy for others. I happen to be one of those who just loves Christmas. I love getting the right presents, wrapping, looking at everyone’s face when they open their present. It’s just fun. Getting the tree is an adventure. We always go sometime between the first and second week of December. The trees are beautiful. The smell is energizing, Christmas. Can’t wait to get it home, set it up and voila, decorate! There isn’t one inch on my tree that doesn’t have an ornament on it. We usually get a tree that’s about 7 – 8 feet. I love Christmas. Can’t you just feel it? It doesn’t matter if you have a big Christmas or a holiday where pennies count. The thing is to make it the best you can. Be with family, friends or strangers for that matter. People who might be a little “short” for the holidays. It’s all about the season. Be happy you have someone. You have something on the table. That you can share what little you have with others. And remember, you are the lucky ones. There are some who will be alone with an empty table and no joy. No matter what you have make the best of it. I once heard of a woman with 2 children. Just the 3 of them. They basically had very little for Christmas. Mom went to a tree lot the day before Christmas and got the ugliest tree they had AND couldn’t sell. She took it home. The children found things around the house. Paper that they cut out ornaments and put paper clips on them to hang on the tree. They took clothes pins, colored them with magic markers and clipped them on the branches. They made that tree special. It’s called love. And if you think about it, that’s what the holidays are really about. Love. Magic. Christmas.
